This state of the art roof ventilator will keep your home cool in summer. The unit is designed to operate with a breeze and with solar, a unique system and the only one in the Australian market.  The unit has a built in fan that ensures extraction rates are far in excess of other standard roof ventilators.

**Retrofit an iSwirl ventilator to your existing whirlybird ventilator.  If you have an existing roof top ventilator with a throat that is 306mm (std whirlybird), simply remove the top of your whirlybird from the throat and attach the iSwirl to the throat as per the instructions.  If you would like to purchase the iSwirl without the throat please select this option in the dropdown. If you find that the Throat is not the correct size, this can be purchased separately.

Why Choose iSwirl 300 Residential Solar and Wind Roof Ventilator?

By combining wind and solar power, the iSwirl 300 continues to extract heat, delivering more consistent performance throughout the day. Traditional ventilators slow down when wind drops — exactly when heat can build up the most. With higher energy prices and global climate change we all need to keep our homes cooler in summer and damp free in winter. The iSwirl 300 achieves this in a vastly more efficient way than a standard whirlybird.

It is more than 30 times as efficient (extraction of air measured in L/s), as a standard Whirlybird vent under the same wind conditions.
  • Significantly more effective at heat removal
  • Saves on energy that would be used by air conditioning or conventional electric fans
  • Promotes fresh air circulation and the avoidance of mould build up
  • Good ventilation in the roof cavity prevents dampness and damage to roof timbers and the formation of mildew
  • Ceiling insulation is less efficient when damp and can add to heating costs
  • The powerful brushless motor is dependable, long-lasting and is super-quiet

Designed for Australian Homes

Australian houses are subjected to some unique weather conditions. In addition to high temperatures in summer, there is also strong UV exposure and changing levels of humidity; all of these things affect the ability of roofing systems to withstand the elements. Roof spaces can often achieve extreme temperatures (particularly amongst properties with metal roofs), which causes heat to transfer into the living area below.

The iSwirl 300 has been created by Australians for Australian conditions. After years of testing and development, the system was introduced as a patented hybrid ventilation solution that uses both solar energy and wind power simultaneously

Up to 30 Times More Efficient Than Standard Whirlybirds

The ability to pull air out of a room is one of the key features of the iSwirl 300.

According to testing done by an independent third party published by iSwirl, the amount of air being pulled into the system can be up to 30 times more efficient than traditional whirlybird ventilation alone, under the same environmental variables.

This increased extraction performance helps remove:

  • Trapped hot air

  • Excess roof cavity moisture

  • Stale air

  • Condensation build-up

  • Dampness linked to mould and mildew

Most home ventilation systems will not provide adequate airflow when roof temperatures are at their highest, but because of its hybrid solar-and-wind design, iSwirl 300 will consistently deliver good airflow on still, sunny days, whereas most older systems will not.

For all homeowners looking for the best roof ventilators on the market today, this hybrid solar and wind system would be a significant benefit because of the combination of efficiency and reliability it provides.

Suitable for Tile and Metal Roofs

The iSwirl 300 has been designed for flexibility across a wide range of Australian residential roof types.

The system is compatible with:

  • Metal roofs

  • Tiled roofs

  • Standard residential roof pitches

  • Existing 300mm whirlybird installations

Due to its unique feature of a versatile pitch geometric design as a continuous, adjustable pitch function, it can be installed on roofs with varying angles (flat to pitched roofs) and be easily weatherproofed through its designed-in weatherproofing flashing feature.

The ability to upgrade or retrofit with the iSwirl 300 series provides an added convenience for homeowners who are currently using older venting systems. Most existing standard whirlybird venting systems with a 306 mm throat dimension can be retrofitted by simply changing out the ventilator head with a new iSwirl model.

Therefore, the iSwirl 300 series makes upgrading the venting on your home/roof simple and efficient and does not require costly and extensive modifications to your roof.
